How NineRadar produces counts and historical statistics

This page describes the current app and worker implementation. It is not an official DeMARK manual, and it does not claim a data license beyond what the product actually requests. Teaching tables elsewhere on the site are marked as examples.

What is covered

The website directory is a lookup of China A-shares, Hong Kong, US, and Korea listings. A directory row is an identity record. It is not proof that today’s scan calculated that name.

The iPhone watchlist can hold names from the markets the app supports, including US, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, India, Brazil, and indexes. Today’s automatic scan is the hot list for the selected market plus names you added. It does not sweep every listing on an exchange.

Free keeps 8 watchlist names and the first 10 of a market’s hot list. Pro opens the rest of that hot list, 13 on the list, lock-screen alerts, the widget, and intraday timeframes. Prices are the App Store price for your storefront.

Where a page’s numbers come from

A stock page reads the public close snapshot from the NineRadar worker. If that snapshot has no weekly frame, the page says the weekly count is not in the scan. It does not reuse the daily sentence.

The worker’s close scan requests China and Hong Kong daily and weekly bars from Tencent forward-adjusted data, then East Money forward-adjusted data, then Yahoo adjusted OHLC. Other website markets use Yahoo adjusted OHLC. Intraday skips Tencent and East Money. The iPhone app uses the same order. A failed request is not stored as a zero-price bar. This page does not claim those vendors have authorized every redistribution.

Setup, as implemented

A low-9 is nine closes below the close four bars earlier. A high-9 is nine closes above that close. The direction is a count, not an order.

While the count is 6, 7, or 8, the chart paints 6 through the current number. A finished 9 paints 1 through 9 on that run. If bar 9 fails, the unfinished labels are removed. That display rule is not a claim about every other formula.

A weekly 9 uses weekly bars. A week that has not finished is not a finished weekly 9. A 120-minute bar is two 60-minute bars on the same date whose timestamps are 60 minutes apart. The 120-minute close is the second bar’s close.

Countdown, as implemented

Countdown can start after a finished 9. The qualifying bars do not have to be consecutive. In this version a low countdown bar counts when its close is less than or equal to the low two bars earlier; a high countdown bar counts when its close is greater than or equal to the high two bars earlier.

Bar 13 means the 13th qualifying countdown bar. If that bar does not pass the close of countdown bar 8, the count stays at 12 and can plot +. That is deferral, not a finished 13. Cancellation and recycle follow the options in this implementation; they are not a collage of every published variant.

Closed pairs

Replay treats each finished 9 in the window as a trial. The default ladder compares that close with the close 10 bars later. A low trial counts as up when the later close is higher. A high trial counts as up when the later close is lower. Choosing 0 bars waits for the next opposite 9 instead. If that exit bar is outside the window, the trial stays pending and stays out of the percentage. The research ledger is a separate screen and is not this percentage.

The percentage is an unweighted hit rate on closed trials. It is not a portfolio return, it does not include fees or slippage, and it is not a forecast of the next bar. Looking only at closed pairs leaves unmatched events out of the denominator.

Clocks

A daily count uses the listing’s session, not the visitor’s local date. Hong Kong continuous trading ends at 16:00; CAS securities close at random around 16:08–16:10, and around 12:08–12:10 on a half day. The scan still waits for the vendor’s final bar.

The New York regular close is often 16:00 America/New_York. Early-close days follow the exchange calendar. During US daylight time that 16:00 is 04:00 in Hong Kong the next calendar day; during standard time it is 05:00. After-hours prints are not the regular daily bar in this product.

Corrections

TXYOU operates NineRadar. Report a wrong count, a wrong session date, or a wrong identity to support@nineradar.com with the symbol, market, timeframe, and the scan date on the page. A corrected bar can change a later count; the page should then show the new snapshot, not the old word “today.”
