I stopped adding the 40th ticker
I used to keep a brokerage list that looked like a sector ETF. Forty-odd names, half of which I could not spell in the morning. A 9 on the 31st row is not a 9 I will see.
NineRadar’s free list is eight. That sounded stingy until I tried living with it. Eight is a dinner table. Forty is a filing cabinet.
How the eight got chosen, after throwing out the ones I only owned because a group chat yelled:
- Two names I already hold. If they print a high-9 I want the close on the same screen as the rest of the book, not a surprise in the monthly statement.
- Three I would actually open a chart for on a Sunday. Not “maybe later.”
- One ETF, because I kept missing the index while babysitting single names.
- Two I am not allowed to add just because they trended on Xueqiu that afternoon.
The market tape is a different job. That is Pro, and it is for after the session, not for padding the personal eight. If a name is not in the eight, it can still show up on the close list. I do not have to marry it at 10:12.
I rotate one slot on Monday nights. Never during the bar. The 9 is a close count. Mid-session reshuffling is just fidgeting.
A count, not an order. Questions: support@nineradar.com.
