The calendar had a hole. The close series did not ask me.
I came back to a gap and a Tongdaxin chart that looked like it had been dropped. A colleague said 长假要重数. He was counting nights. The rule counts sessions.
Consecutive means consecutive trading bars, not consecutive midnights. The market was closed. Those days are not bars. They do not add to 9. They also do not automatically wipe 1–8.
What can wipe 1–8 is the next session’s close failing the trigger. That can happen on the first day back. It can also not happen. I wasted the morning of 2025’s return trying to “repair” a 6 that was still a 6.
A holiday checklist that is actually short
- Which venues were closed? A-shares and HK often, US often not.
- First cash close back: does bar N still qualify versus four session-bars back?
- Do not compare Tuesday to last Friday as if the weekdays in between were prints.
US names kept printing while I ate too much. Their 9s did not pause for my holiday. That still surprises me every year, which is a skill issue.
