“Today” belongs to the listing’s trading session
Refreshing AAPL at 16:05 in Hong Kong does not make the US daily bar exist. Hong Kong and New York do not share one “today.”
Three different moments
- The exchange stops continuous trading.
- The vendor publishes the final daily bar.
- NineRadar finishes the scan for that session.
Clock table
- Hong Kong, Asia/Hong_Kong. Continuous trading ends 16:00. CAS securities close at random about 16:08–16:10. Half day: about 12:08–12:10. 16:04 is not a confirmed daily bar.
- US, America/New_York. Regular close is often 16:00. Early-close days follow the exchange calendar. Do not write 16:00 on every session.
- Daylight time: 16:00 New York is 04:00 in Hong Kong on the next calendar day. Standard time: 05:00. CST is not a timezone name to use here.
- Each row on a mixed list keeps its own session date.
This is a timezone calculation, not a promise about a future holiday. Nasdaq and NYSE can differ. The scan still waits for the vendor bar after the auction.
