Understand the sample before reading the percentage
A percentage without the unmatched count is incomplete. The app’s definition is in the method page; the rows below are teaching numbers.
Teaching ledger, not a backtest result
- Finished 9s in the window: 4.
- Closed pairs, horizon 0 in this teaching ledger: 2. One low-9 then a higher high-9 close (counts up). One high-9 then a higher low-9 close (counts down). This row is not the default 10-bar ladder.
- Still waiting: 2. They are not in the numerator or the denominator.
- Closed-sample up rate: 1/2. That is not “50% accurate,” not a portfolio return, and not a fee-adjusted result.
The default ladder compares the finished 9 with the close 10 bars later. Horizon 0 waits for the next opposite 9. Those are different samples. Do not mix them. The 4, 2, and 1/2 above are an arithmetic sketch of the horizon-0 rule, not a run of the replay function.
