21:47 HKT is a rumor about the close
Earnings hit at 17:05 ET. The extended-hours candle looked like a finished high-9 if you squinted. I wrote it down. I had to cross it out after the official close landed somewhere else.
I trade US names from Asia. The evening is long. IBKR will show you whatever last is handy. Last is not the daily close the count is built on.
When I get sloppy, I treat 21:30–23:00 HKT as “the US day is done.” It is not. Cash is 9:30–16:00 ET. After-hours is a coda. Codas move my pulse. They do not get to sign the daily bar.
A rule I taped to the monitor, then ignored, then taped again
No US daily 9 in the notebook until the cash close is marked, even if the press release already has a number.
NineRadar staying quiet on a US name at 22:00 HKT is not lag. It is waiting. I used to refresh like a slot machine. Now I wait, or I look at 60-minute counts and label them as such, which is a different hobby.
A count, not an order. Questions: support@nineradar.com.
