A sector tape is still an attendance sheet

Investment desk

Someone asked for “the chips that printed today.” I sent a list of finished daily 9s after the US close. I did not sort it by story. I sorted it by symbol, which annoyed the person who wanted drama.

Sector filters are a way to not drown. They are also a way to pretend a theme is a signal. I use the filter. I say the second sentence out loud in the same Slack thread.

That close: two high-9s I already held, one low-9 I did not, several Almost-8s I refused to forward. The ETF we use as furniture had nothing. Members and the fund do not owe each other a 9.

What did not go in the email

If we add a name next week it will be because the book wanted the name. The tape can tell us the name printed. That is the whole gift.
